17inch wheel offsets

What have folks found to work in terms of offsets when using 17" wheels (probably 8" wide)? Is there an offset that can be used for both front and back?

I recently spent some time trying to find the correct set up for my Chim using aftermarket wheels. The conclusion I drew was that the fronts would be ET 25 and rears ET 35 no matter whether you put 17"' allround or a combination of 17" front and 18" rear. I'm not sure how the ET would be affected with 8x17 fronts, I was thinking of 7x17 front and 8x18 rear.
