Kumho Ecsta V70

Guys,

Has anyone ever gone from 18" Goodyear Eagles to these tyres above?

If so, did you have any fouling issues either at arch or h/l cowling?

I changed from Pirelli P Zeros, no problem. The Kumhos don't sit quite as nicely on the rims but it's a small price to pay as with an extra half a degree negative camber on the fronts, the understeer was much reduced. There's also a LOT more grip :-)

Do you leave the Kumhos on or have a spare set of rims?

Also, the Kumhos come in hard and medium compound. I've been advised by Camskil to go hard rear and soft front, what do you have?

I think Gman had them for 1,000 miles then had to replace them! On that note anybody heard from the Gman recently?

I have medium compound allround, but i do have roll bars and wider fronts, great tyre, next best thing to a slick, but thats for next month!!

I spoke to Gareth a few months ago and tried to tempt him to come up to Stoneleigh with us all. I think he has done all he wanted to do with his car and is now concentrating on other areas in his life.

Pete, what size have you put on the front? as there isn't a correct 245 section. I used a 225, but I believe a 265 would also fit and has been said to improve front grip.

Hi Tim,

I've gone Kumho Ecsta V70:

Fronts 245 35 R18 (medium comp)
Rears 335 30 R18 (hard comp)

The only reason I've gone Kumhos are that they are the only road legal track tyre in the same size as the Goodyears AFAIK?

Oops , I didn't think you could get the 245 front, have to go and check availability as my V70's are getting a bit thin!

You can also get the Toyo R888 in these sizes.

Tim, I have recently ordered a set of 888's and because a 245/35X18 is not available to use on the front, I have gone for a 225/40X18 which has only a marginal increase in rolling circumference. One of us has been given the incorrect information it would seem, I hope it is not me!

I fink Wayne is right mate, 888 only in 335 30 18 not in 245 35.

I concede my Toyo-misinformation, but are you sure you can get the V70's in the 245 section, if so where from as DTs doesn't list them.

Tim, P is due to take delivery of his very soon and I am sure that they are the correct size.
