I know it's early to be thinking about next years TT, but I'm planning on making my first trip over next year (couldn't get it sorted this year) and thought I'd get in while it's still fresh in the minds.

Got a few questions though. I'd like to go for the full two weeks to see practice as well- is this common or is there not enough to do during the days of the first week to keep you occupied?

Where's best to stay (preferrably B&B- lived in a tent for six month's in Oz, so well and trully camped out!) - probably won't have a bike capable of riding over at that time so would probably be looking at either driving accross or flying and hiring a car, unless public transport is any good out there?

How early do you need to book accomadation, and does anybody have any good contact names.

Sorry if this seems a bit early, but I've heard that so many people book their accomadation for next year whilst still out for the current TT I don't want to miss out.

Finally- does anybody know when they announce the date of next years races?

Any help on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.

TBH, I think you won't have much trouble making arrangements next year. So many people who always wanted to do the TT were over this year that I reckon 2008 will be much quieter.

Steam Packet are really pushing 2008 bookings so I think they fear the same.

I was over for practice week this year - practice was typically evenings only, so you've got the whole day to do what you want. We ended up touring the south of the Island, something we hadn't done the previous 2 years.

Edit: Dates for next year? Mad Sunday is always the first Sunday in June, so practice week is the week before and race week is the w/c Mad Sunday smile.

I think 2 weeks is a bit long.
Dont camp get homestay.
Check out the manx web forums, search google for isle of man home stay.
Also contact the tourist info who have a list of all homestay homes.

Book ferries now, pay the deposit and be prepared to pay a bit extra when they sort out the balance.

Get homestay sorted, plenty of places on the island where you can get lodged. Anything from a couple of rooms with the owners to whole houses. IoM tourist board are excellent.

Go for 2 weeks. The number of places to view is limitless so you can enjoy evening practices with small crowds compared to the race week with the masses.

Race week can get messed up depending on the weather so the with practice week you can see the island aswell.

I'll be there again for 2 weeks, 5 nights b&b, 7 nights in homestay, roll on next year!!
