How many springs do you have on the throttle return mechanism in the engine bay?
Some have one strong spring, some 2 weaker springs, some 1 spring, the usual fit-whats-left-on-the-shelf stuff, anyway if you're running on 2 springs, maybe you need to remove one and see if that helps...

My heavy/stiff throttle was just some dried up muck in the cable.
probably from where it sits at the back of the engine slowly being cooked.
I disconnected the cable at the engine end and squirted wd40 onto the inner cable, then pushed the inner cable in and out a few times, more wd40 more pushing, more wd40, pushing, etc, etc, until it was nice and free. clean off any excess muck and wd40. then i did the same again but with a thin oil. left the cable tied to the bonnet so the oil could run down the inner cable as far as possible. connected it back up.
Job Done, light and smooth loud pedal again.

Could be the throttle cable fraying and sticking inside the cover. If so it is about to break and it would be agood idea to get it replaced before that happens!
i had the same heavy pedal symptoms, turned out it needed changing and now it's all good. PPC in melton did it for me - they always do a good job :-)Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
