Last minute panic - not recieved my green card
Discussion
What with everything else going on the past few days, just doing my last packing check and realised my effing green card has never arrived from A Plan.
Is it a problem?
What will happen if I get pulled and asked to produce and I don't have it?
I will be gone before the post arrives tomorrow, would appreciate some advice.
thanks
Ed

Yeah its your international insurance cover note, just read it's compulsory, c'est la vie, so my question is what will they do if I act the innocent and say I forgot it? I have everything else and the kitchen sink, and in a nice shiny car surely they will give the benefit of the doubt that I wouldn't be so stupid as to drive without cover?
Most insurance policies these days include Euro cover as standard. It may only be third party but that will meet the legal minimal requirements. Check the wording on your certificate. We're taking 2 cars, my 360 is already insured fully comp abroad with Zurich but the Focus my son's driving was just third party and I've had to pay extra to get it fully comp (Norwich Union).
If you have spoken to your insurers and they have issued it that is all that you need to know. The cover is in place. The fact that you don't have it with you is incidental. You would be advised, if you have one somewhere though, to carry the standard european accident form which both parties fill in and each keeps a part. If not well, I'm sure you aren't going to have an accident anyway. Just take your insurance certificate. That'll do nicely.

Correct - A Flux do not issue a green card, but do send a letter simply recommending you take your insurance certificate or cover note. Lowdrag - hope to see your wonderful D type driving around
Hi All,
Check what cover your Green Card gives you - it might not be the same as your UK cover...
You don't need your green card with you - I have been pulled in France a number of times (I spend quite a bit of time there) and have never been asked for anything more than my licence, but you might want to check the cover you have as many green cards are just third party cover - if you want fully comp cover then you need to get an international extention of your policy (free for 3 days with Privilege)....
Phil.
