From digging old threads it seems that sticky gears (particularly in adn out of 3rd) is a common problem. On mine, it feels as if the clutch could go a little further. Is there a way of actuating the clutch more? By adjusting the actuator arm? I have bled the clutch and topped it up which helped a bit. Im going to change the gearbox oil also so see if this helps. Can anyone give me any guidance on this, how to find the filler hole etc? Its a 96 Chim with a T5 box.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

It is possible to adjust the clutch pedal too much and this can limit pedal travel, leading to your problem.
When you look at the pedal you will see it is screwed into the arm and there is a 17mm locknut. The more its screwed in, the more thread sticks out the back of the pedal.
The end of the screw can touch part of the steering column and limit pedal travel.

Noticed any clutch fluid leaks? I found a leak into the footwell from the master cylinder and applied a repair kit. It stopped that leak but made no difference to the pedal. Later I found another leak from the clutch slave cylinder. After fitting a replacement the clutch biting point was much further up the pedal travel.

Thanks guys, been and had a look but with me having short legs, the clutch pedal is adjusted right up already so it clears the steering column. The travel bottoms out when the rubber seal on the master cylinder is about 12-15mm from the clevis, is this about typical? Ill check the slave cylinder for a leak also because last time I bled it there was some grey looking fluid came out before it went clear. Thanks for your replies.
