F1 Testing next week

almost certainly all the major teams will be there in some capacity.
From previous experience the test drivers do tuesday and the race drivers are there for wednesday and thursday though some race drivers are present all three days as are some test drivers.
It will be interesting to see how many people attend given the "Hamilton factor" despite the admission charges.
no idea how you get in the pit lane, lots of queueing i imagine and all the teams either bring the doors down or have barriers up so you cant see that much. you can see more from a good spot is the uncovered grandstand opposite the pits with a pair of binos!
you are generally allowed to wander from the bridge at bridge to the bridge on the pit straight, woodcote gets very busy at the exit with amateur and pro photographers in attendance.

generally all the teams test for this one. But you don't always know what drivers - i'd opt for day 2 or day 3 - more likely to get the top drivers, rather than the test guysI've gone before on corporate outings - but sure you can buy access via silverstone's website
No way you'll get into the pits, nor even into the centre of the circuit...and fair chance viewing will be restricted to between Bridge and Copse...I've also known them to restrict viewing to between Bridge and before the pedestrian tunnel before Copse. With Hamilton fever at an all-time high, I predict mots more security, bigger crowds and even less freedom of movement.

That is impressive. I have been to the testing each year for the past 5 years and it has always been the same - have to park outside, walk thru main gate and are directed left...the bridge is well guarded In years gone by, I've just driven through the gates and across the bridge and parked up next to the paddock - maybe it's different this year

last year the pit lane was awash with people during the lunch break. not sure if they were guests or had just heard it was open but there was a lot of em. as i said though, there was bugger all to see. i can see testing being more than £10 admission next year. silverstone know they are on to something now...I've been a fair few times, alway's had to park outside, and never had to pay. Its a good way of seeing (only for a few corners) and listerning. But the bridge and inner track area's are always off limits.!!! No idea how the people in there get there.
Looking at the silverstone web site, they do now appear to be cashing in on the Lewis factor.!!!! and £99 to get into the inner area's....... bit steep if you ask me.!

is it really £99 to get inside!? i never realised, i always saw loads of people in the paddock at lunch but just assumed they were the public? i wonder how they enforce that then cos i never see anyone wearing passes or anything
Last year our sports and social clup ran a coach trip up there and all the people had pit access - I think it was one of those group VIP things and about £80 ph.Edited by skinny on Thursday 14th June 12:24
