Getting a new R6....What shall I demand from the dealer???!!
Discussion
So, I;ve got a call in for the dealer to call me back re new R6. Shoud I mention about the deals that the Suzi and Kwak dealers are doing, and say I'm sorely tempted??!!
Think it'll help?
I "think" I want a new R6, with all the toys, and a great px on mine. What else can I get??!! aftermarket Can, crash bungs, double bubble, quick shifter, power commander, carbon this, carbon that!!!!!!!

can i just ask?, whats the point in getting a new R6 when yours is still the current shape?.
18k miles and a few bumps and scrapes. Plus it's totally standard.

Nick,
Are you giving up commuting into the city/canary wharf on the bike??
If you are not then you will still put mucho miles on the the new bike as you have done with your current R6.....
Why not spend a little cash on your current bike: Ohlins shock, oil & springs in the front (if needed), crash bungs & possibly race plastics that can be changed easily for the track excursions. I reckon that woudl cost you a grand and you'll have the best of both worlds...

100cc more per cylinder? Well, I can only ask!!! Go on, d'ya dare me??!!
I'm not sure on the commuting...probably carry on now for a bit. Especially as the wharf is that bit closer, easier and therefore less chance of...nope, not gonna say it.
Re the new toys for mine....Yeah, that's a good idea, but in a year or so it'll be approaching 40k miles or something...surely the near the end of its life??!!
Actually, I'm gutted they've changed the decals in 2007... no more red on them, and I've just got my new black and red leathers...and we all know the trouble I had to get them!!
Hmmm, decisions, decisions.
I've got to email the dealer listing everythnig I want on the bike, and he's gonna get back to me with some numbers. Wasn't thinking of financing it (House sale approachng, not loaded!), but if they're doing 0%, might as well!
Thanks all, I appreciate the help and advice.....keep the ideas coming

Don't buy a new R6. It'll feel exactly the same as your current steed. Do as Andy says and spend a little on your current bike. After all, if you want to do more track days and fancy yourself as Frankie Chili then you'd be truly gutted if you have a mishap and damage another bike. (Meant genuinely - no smartarsedness intended)

I think that you're seriously overestimating the amount of profit a dealer makes on a new bike.....Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
