So what do we think is the best way to get air into an AJP.
Dont care about noise, looks infact anything except for performance gains.
Options (let me know if i miss any)
Standard System
Cone filters
Covered cone filters
Tuscan challenge bonnet intakes
No air boxes just trumpets with a filter element??
Anyone got any ideas???
Mike

Standard System
defo not a race orientated hp curve, unless you're hillclimbing maybe
Cone filters
sound great and flow loads but can be improved upon ie proper cold air feed
Covered cone filters
getting better but there's an inlet length trap you should avoid
Tuscan challenge bonnet intakes
never understood this set-up. not conclusively proven on dyno but i suspect relatively easy to improve upon

unless your trumpet is about 5 inches long this is a really bad idea, the airboxes are worth 20hp (cold air and large plenum volume) so don't junk those.

So which was is best, it sounds like none do the job very well!defo not a race orientated hp curve, unless you're hillclimbing maybe

What's with this track car solution, I understand it gives 40 or so BHP?
I take it this is expensive and includes the short induction pipes too?
It's the cheapest option you'll find on short induction and a remap. Check Trackcars profile for a link or do a serach on "short induction" or "Whirlwind induction", failing that drop me an email and I will explain it all for you.I take it this is expensive and includes the short induction pipes too?
Jules.

how's your cam testing coming Harry? The final version of the modified 4.2's are going in next week, with the usual internal 'improvements' lots and lots of work on mine but they have now made jig and have special drilling/milling tools to repeat it. TBH they are an absolute work of art, its almost sad that they still look standard(ish) on the outside
.If that goes well then next saturday the kit of a thousand parts, every shape and size of exhaust section you could possibly fit to a cerb has been premade for a test day, which I'm really looking forward to.
Hoping the whole car is a couple of weeks away now, boy its been a long journey, only hope I don't wrap it around something on the first outing
