S1 wing mirrors.

Has any one got a set (Any condition) of S1 electric wing mirrors. (As fitted to early wedges!)

I am in need of a pair for a vehicle restoration!

I don't think we have ever established what car those mirrors were originally fitted to.

The parts list says "Citroen CX" but I think that refers to the later ones with the 3 rubber o-rings (the same mirrors were also fitted to the Jaguar XJ220)

The closest I have seen to the earlier ones (like mine) was an older Citroen CX Familiale (the 8-seater estate thing) but that was only in a photo so I wasn't sure.

My car isn't particularly early though so I suspect that TVR ordered batches of Citroen CX mirrors but one or two batches were possibly different from the rest.

But the S1 never had leccy mirrors AFAIK, they were all the manual italia style bendy arm jobbies.

The electric XJ220 and Griffith (Citroen CX) type mirrors as mentioned above were on the S3 onwards models only.

You could always fit some nice Audi TT mirrors for less then £100 (electrically adjusted and heated):-

Mine is an S3. It has electric mirrors but otherwise the same shape as the early wedges. I suspect that is what the OP is referring to.

If so, then I think it's a different model of Citroen CX mirror.

If I was changing them (which I'm not) I know exactly what mirror I think I would use for the right "look", the least hassle and no fibreglassing and no repainting.

Yes the S1 and S2 had electric mirrors like the early wedges. I got a set earlier in the year from a man in Devon from a S1, which I fitted to one of my early 350i's but I now need another set for my other 350i.
Has any one got a set in there garage etc!!

Man in Devon here, how are things.

Mine were on my S2, not S1 and it was a very rare fitment. I have been to several S'Club Heaven meetings and seen probably 100 S series and never saw another set.

I have the order form for my car & the yuppie buyer (company car) asked for lots of silly things, it still has headlight washers which most S series dont have either.

All the extra parts were knicked from the Wedge production line as far as i can tell, I have only ever seen the mirrors on wedges.
