GT3 RS Tank of juice on first day. But explain VTS
Discussion
Picked the new car today and a tank of fuel later I'm very very impressed. For me the best looking and performing 911 to date.
One thing I don't fully understand is the VTS, I know that if I don't have the plastic thing with me it will send an alert that the car is on the move and they will phone me etc, but what if I'm highjacked or the keys and plastic thing are stolen , can the VTS be activated ? , the literature suggests that if the plastic thing is in the car it cant be traced.
Surely if this is the case the system is less effective than a tracker type system.
Anyone know

Vipergreen - first, congrats on your new car. I have just picked up my new GT3 from Stuttgart. If you feel like I do you are on cloud 9.
Second, re the VTS, the golden rules are: the keycard and car key must never be kept together otherwise if a thief steals and drives away the car, the Cobra security centre that administer the VTS system have no way of knowing it has been stolen. The keycard should be kept on your person in a wallet or in a pocket where there are no other keys, coins or other metal objects. If you obey these rules the Cobra centre is automatically alerted if you and the car are separated and someone else steals the car. If they turn the engine off they will unable to restart it.
Due to this keycard, I think the VTS system has significant advantages over other systems like Tracker. VTS also works throughout Europe.

Brave man to go for Green I think it looks fantastic, there wont be many of them around. I see you have the steel brakes word of advice before you track her change the fluid to SRF & pads to RS29's. The OEM pads & fluid are hopeless on track, there is no bite from the pads at all & the pedal just gets softer & softer as the heat gets into them.

Yes, they are those funny little Saxo's usually driven by a tatoo'd bloke with a Burberry uniform on, commonly refurred to as "Chav" or fecking w@nker, Porks tend to attract these little distractions on a frequent basis, your car obviously comes complete with a gizmo to destroy these cretins!

what are the tyres on the car as they dont look like - michelin cups ?
They are Pirreli Corsa's, but I don't know why, any ideas?I had heard it may have been due to a shortage from Michelin, whereby Pirreli steeped in, but not
sure.
Not really any difference on track, as i have been in cars that have both, although i think
the tread is slightly deeper on Perreli's so should last longer...
