Yes, we have on the Saab, paid for itself within the month.

It is a MUST.
Really is worth it thumbup

All you have to do is have the car serviced to the manufacturers spec, that doesnt mean it has to be at an authorised dealer though.

Quick, easy and the garage speaks directly to the AA so you dont have the hassle.

will get it then, suppose it only has to pay out once every few years to make it worth the money! cant think any repair work I have ever had done to a car that cost less than £3-400 costs that much to get the grease monkies off thier tea break and into the workshop! wink

Obviously it can be over £500 but the AA will pay up to that and you pay the rest.
But you proably knew that anyway redface

seems like a good bet when repairs can be so pricey on TVRs!

Just took out the policy and membership and I also got at least £10 worth of nectar points with my membership too, thats one bottle of cheap vodka for me then! smile

thanks for the responses!

Worth doing in my opinion. So long as you follow their "procedure"....

I have a rad problem at the moment which I knew could cost upwards of £350 so called them and let them send out a patrol to take a look - the guy didn't have a clue and I didn't want to warm up the engine to replicate the "leak" so told him what happened, showed him the damp patch under the front offside corner and he was happy with that. All he had to do was mark down on the job sheet "take to garage for repair". I called the breakdown repair team who are happy for me to take it to my chosen garage for inspection and repair. Costs can be billed direct from the garage to the AA or I can pay and claim back (they pay within a week apparently) minus the £25 excess. They will NOT pay out if you take it to a garage first and have any work started without their authorisation/inspection first.

Well worth it thumbup

Don't be daft - 10 year olds aren't allowed to drive.

Is this only offered to members? (I can't find anything on their Website)
I'm with the RAC - simply because my Tesco Clubcard points pay for it.

There is a 100,000 mile limit, so I couldn't take out the policy on my family car - had to put it on the Griff instead!

I called the AA a couple of weeks ago to get relay added because of a broken clutch on the Cerb and the nice young lady sold me the £65 cover. As long as I didn't make a claim within 14 days of taking it out I am covered for the first £475 of the clutch. Leven advise me they have a close to 100% record on claiming for customers using this policy. wink

On the 100k miles limit, I confirmed that as long as the car had less than 100k when taken out and subscription was renewed every year on a direct debit and car maintained to dealer spec by a vat registered garage, you are covered as long as the car is less than 10 years old.

Can't see them paying out on a problem that existed before you took out the cover - and if it's wear and tear they'll not cover it anyway IMO.
