Hi folks, just wondering if there are many / any Scottish 993 drivers using the forum..? I am based in Aberdeen and Edinburgh and only very rarely spot another 993 on the roads.

Main reason for asking is that I am trying to gauge whether my wagon is as well set up suspension-wise as it could be. The car has done 65 k miles (Ive had it since 60k) and has had the rear dampers changed at some point. It does feel fairly taut once its out on the open road but as its the only 993 Ive any experience of its difficult to be sure if it woulda been better, or if it could be better. I have been toying with getting some bilstein kit lined up...

Anyway, bit of a long shot, but if anyone else with a 993 was willing for me to stop briefly to get a 2nd opinion I'd much obliged.

Dave

I don't have my car there, but I'm fairly often in the Aberdeen area (visiting relatives) and would be happy to meet up and give you my thoughts, which may or may not be of any use ...

Just got back though and next time probably not 'til August.

Compadre. I'm in the Perth area and have a 993 C2S which I've had now for 2 years. Last year it became evident that the rear shocks were goosed. I went with the Bilstein HD option and decided to upgrade the springs and ARB's to the M030 turbo setup. carnewal.com supplied these as a kit and I had Brian Miller do the work (2C Lanark Road, Ediburgh EH14 1TQ 0131 443 7806). He's very experienced, Porsche trained and amusingly grumpy! He did a grand job on mine. He has an associate who does the geometry and apparently used to do all the allignment work for Porsche Edinburgh before they had their own kit, so knows what he is up to. My car has been transformed by this upgrade. If you want any more info email me. Hugh.

Ain't that the truth! He can be quite scary on a bad day. Think the alignment place is CLMC and its in the Sighthill area.
