Garmin Nuvi 310d: SD Card Size for Europe Maps

Hi All,

I have just bought a Garmin Nuvi 310d (it is on its way to me).

I understand that the unit only had a 512MB internal memory and I am planning to expand this using a 2GB SD Card.

However, until I do, how big an SD card do I need in order to load the full European mapping onto?
I have a 512MB one lying around at home. Will this be enough?

No it won't be for all of Europe. You will need about a gig for that.

Can you select the countries you want?

I only need France, Belgium and Germany for the weekend.
