Adverts with sound

Can't entirely remember, think it was VXR - the one with 3 guys in crash helmets!

I've just been nobbled by it too (and, yes, it was the VXR advert with the 3 chaps in full face helmets and racing overalls)

I've never liked websites or adverts that generate sound without warning.

Right - REALLY not happy now. I was listening to some music quite loudly on my computer whilst browsing PH and got that bloody advert again, really loud (louder than the music) that spoiled both my enjoyment of my music and of PH.

Does this mean that I can no longer listen to music on my computer and browse PH at the same time?

To be fair Ted has said above that he will get it sorted - he doesn't make the adverts himself, he would have to contact the ad provider and get them to change it. It annoyed me too, but I'll happily give the guy a few days to sort it before getting pissy...

Just got hit by this again, and I had the speakers turned up after listening to a Merlin engine being run up. About jumped out of my skin for the second time with this advert.

Just written to Vauxhall to tell them that my company has cancelled its order for 600 Astras due to this

Notice to marketing bods, yes, advertising does work, but sometimes it has a negative effect. Which adverts do this? easy! the really ing annoying ones do!

Ironically, I just checked into this thread because "My Stuff" said it had changed and got assaulted by the bloody advert!

Ad guys have said the ad is serving without the sound on as default, so if you come across any pages where the ad has sound can you post the link below.

It's beginning to get annoying. Is there any way we could set something so when we are logged in you get no sound from the site at all?

OK.. We have put in a solution which should solve the problem, if anyone notices anymore problems with sound on ads then post the link of where they are along with importantly the browser you are using.

Forgot to add... also please tell us the advert that is making the noise too, as some of the places above, the VXR advert is not showing and it is another advert
