Hi all,
I get a strong fuel smell in the car after filling up with fuel.
Is this normal and just the tank venting or should I be suspecting a leak in the filler lines or something.
I haven't noticed any wet patches in the boot and the smell is gone the next day.
Fuel economy is bad enough without throwing the stuff away !

I once had this. I traced it to a slack hose clip fastening the flexible hose between the tank and the filler pipe. It only leaked after filling because that's when there's petrol in the pipe. Pull back the carpet above the tank to check the pipe clips.

I get this sometimes, can't find any leaks and suddenly disapears,I think it is something to do with venting.
