Picking up the new toy this weekend, and although I'd like to think I'm a better than average driver (don't we all?), I'm more than willing to put my hands up and say "HELP" someone teach me how to drive this thing.
Now although I've owned and driven some nice cars in my time, Jag XK8's, Porsches etc.....BUT this weighs 1060kg fully fueled and produces over 600bhp.
Anyone know of any decent instructors that can give me a few lessons on how to tame this beast and hopefully drive it properly without wrapping around the first big tree I come accross?

Thanks in advance

Very nice car. As long as the spin doesn't get me wraped round a tree then that sounds good. wavey

Absolutely, i had a day and a half with him after i purchased the Chim. I had been driving for over 25 years, but learnt so much from him, and the experience greatly improved my enjoyment of the car.

Steve is a top bloke, and very easy to get on with.

Now there's an offer I can't refuse, especially as you probably know more about the car and its quirks than anyone else, especially after building 2 of them!

Cheers driving

That's one hell of a nice car (Drool). I've heard good things about Don Palmer too but have never been on any of his courses.

Hi Simon, stay behind me I only ever go slow. Seriously Don Palmer great had day with him many years ago on wet handling in Holden which pretty much corresponds to dry handling in an Ultima. Just remember it will let go in most gears, only use those pedals when you are pointing straight. Soon will have our own Ultima club around Maidenhead.

Cheers Brian,

Was planning on popping over to see you if the weather holds. Been a slight delay in that the car is now being delivered tomorrow afternoon.
Can't wait!!!!
How did you get on "posting" yourself into the car after a wet Le Mans?
