Looking to swap my 530 BMW, and a Monaro has got its claws into me (ok, it's gnawing my leg off) following a test drive.

Need some help on identifying model years though (not VXR model). I understand the '06 MY cars have a newer engine and bonnet scoops - is that correct?

What pros and cons are there vs the older cars, or is it simply "the newer the better??"

Thanks, and I have no doubt I'll be meeting you all petrol stations and tyre dealers soon...

Only the 6.0 VXR has the newer engine, all the other are the 5.7l LS1. Like ringram says the models sans bonnet scoops have a much bigger boot.

Thanks guys - can I just be double sure on the bonnet sscoops - all '06 cars have them?

(In which case the 55 reg I drove isn't an 06 model as the dealer claimed...which is good news in as much as I need some negotiating points!)
