is there a beginers area or some sort of baby pool ? or do you just jump in and go for it ?

The organisers will provide a briefing with lots of rules. Hopefully, any novice will be in a special group. More experienced drivers will probably be in another group, very fast people running slicks will be in another group and maybe single seaters will be in another group. There are rules about looking in your mirrors and getting out of the way of faster cars and (typically) no overtaking in corners. Don't get too close to cars in front or your nose (the car's I mean) could be chipped by stones.
Check your oil etc are at maximum and tyre pressures higher than comfortable road settings. I think the organisers will tell you all this as wll as what to do if you see yellow flags.

The track day coming up at Castle Combe is, I believe a novice event. Certainly hope so as it will be my first time out.

There must be other similar events to look out for.

I think it's fully booked now - but if you look at the stickies above - theres a tvr only rvrning at Brands on the easier Indy circuit. perfect for newbies as everyone is very friendly
