Oil pressure sender question
Discussion
Hi All,
Its dumb question time. I changed my oil sender last night. It screws into what appears to be a brass fitting. The one I replaced was not screwed in particularly tight. My dumb question is do I screw the new one in as tight as I can or will this damage the brass fitting. I have put it in reasonably tight at the mo but didn't give it maximum welly as it felt like it would strip the thread.
Hope this makes sense.

I would imagine it would only need to be tight enough to make a good seal. I think tightening it up as much as you could would indeed strip the threads.
Have you managed to test the sender yet? As you said on another thread my S2 seems to have the same oil pressure reading problem as yours did. If it cured it for you it should hopefully cure it for me too.
Roy.
