Golf Mark 4 Tdi. 3 questions

Hi all

We are looking for a TDI Golf for my sister and have up to 8K to spend.

Just a couple of quite question.
Does the Tdi have a cam belt? If so when should it be changed?
Do all 130 BHP one’s have a 6 speed gear box, or was this an option?
Is the 110 any good?

Is the anything I should be looking for?

Yes they have a belt, should be changed at the 72k service IIRC
As far as I know, all 130's have a 6sp box - it's a good box, good ratios and cruising in 6th makes the economy even better.
No, the 110 is poor compared to the 130, even for an average driver, for an enthusiastic one it's awful.

Not sure how urgent your search is, but I'll have an 02 plate 130 for sale in about 3 weeks, it'll be on PH so keep a look out or mail me if you're interested.

Could well be interested in the Golf. Whats the milage and the S/H like, we looking for the right car, just missed on over the weekend. What do you think you'll want for it?

Not sure if I'm allowed to put too many details on here, but it'll be advertised on PH anyway, so hopefully it's OK.

The car will have abour 70k on, Full history, cambelt etc, will have a new MOT and 6m Tax, it's black with a black interior, VW sports exhaust and suspension and it drives sooooo much nicer than my A3
As to price, until I have it valeted and waxed and confirm the condition, I honestly have no idea.
