Indeed Grant, that motor does have a certain appeal but what is the point of trying to shed weight by the copious use of CF only to affix 2 X coil packs the size of garden sheds to the front of the motor?
Display motor.... coil packs go on the inner guards or firewall....Boosted LS1 said:
Think I've seen those plenums in Oz before now.
Boosted.
Not sure, they do look very similar to those shown on the Holden Special Vehicles still born 427 Monaro project from a few years ago, I think some aspect of this engine when into the LS7, and defiantly into later race programs that GM ran, it was a long way ahead of the Mosler, Porsche and others at the Bathurst 24 when they ran it.Boosted.

There are not 20 sitting around but there are a few.....if I remember correctly the intake system minus electronics was 25k usd and the GM racing electronics package (fuel and ignition) was upwards of 75k usd....factory team budgets are unreal....
When we did Indy cars (IRL)with the Cosworth suupplied XG engine package the pro-rated budget per weekend was in excess of 1.5million USD....that did include the development budgets but even so....ouch..!!!!

That does look very impresive! Not driven the C5 or 6 R yet, but they do look like an amazing car! The road Z06 is awsome, so the GT1 must be really good!

GTRene! Where have you been man? Abducted by aliens perhaps? On a peace keeping mission to the Antarctic? Or maybe just on holiday 'eh

I was exploring Mars see if the climate was good enough to live there, the good thing, no police, the bad thing no roads and no cars, ow and no woman yet
on the more serious note, I'm not that much on this lovely forum as I used to be...not that much energy sadly, my car has plenty but even with the car I don't go out that much(its a shame I know) hope to get a bit more energy back again and less rules that spoils my driving fun, but I think that's a hard part to ask..
