Back in Blighty - how to kill time for another 12 months?

Yep, worst journey home in memory. 5 hours of hood-up, steamed up windows, aquaplaning and not one let-up in the rain. None of the usual cheerful waving from the locals, I guess they were all sheltering from the elements.
I reckon a Sunseeker would have been the quickest ride home. Commiserations to the Cerbera driver who floated into the Armco just south of Abbeville.

I've been home just under 1 hour a 9 and a half hour journey from Houx Annex to Swindon after dropping off my uncle in Croydon.Weather was horrendous, we were due to come home monday afternoon but packed up in the rain and came home.Suppose we were due a 'wet one', too tired to report much more as i'm knackered and off to bed!
I was uming and aring about going this year and in the end decided against it. Reading reports thus far I am ashamed to say that I do feel like a bit of a smug bastard as it seems I made the right decision this year but I am planning to go to the classics next year and hope that I will not be experiencing a comeupance of sorts.

In the end I left before the end of the race and had a sunny and trouble free journey through France, if not a slow one due to the cops and me being tired etc.......
Here here. Shame about the horrible traffic on the M20 in the rain (I forgot how bad our UK motorways are whilst sat on the lovely French Autoroutes). Nice to see a couple of PH/Le Mans'ers on the way back, had a bit of a wave. Good weekend, shame about the weather (and our hilarious lack of preparedness)James_N said:
Just got back myself. Been on the road since 1pm yesterday afternoon apart from a break to change drivers and obviously the ferry.
Took us 3 hours to get out of houx then got held up at a peage near rouen for nearly 3 hours, so its been a mad run home for me!
Roll on next year!
Since 1pm? Blinking heck, thought I was doing badly, having left at about 5. Took us 3 hours to get out of houx then got held up at a peage near rouen for nearly 3 hours, so its been a mad run home for me!
Roll on next year!
