Is my starter giving signs of imminent death?
Discussion
sat in traffic for 3 hours last night and then like an idiot stalled the car pulling away from lights on the A40. Then pushed starter button and absolutely nothing happened! Luckily a couple of lads pulled over and helped my push car out of the way of the traffic. I guessed as everything was on gas mark 10 the starter was cooked. Lifted up bonnet and sat there like a muppet for 20mins and tried again and it was fine. This has never happened again, then when I got home about an hour later I stopped car on drive and tried to re-start - and it was fine. Do I need to worry this is the fist sign of a knackered starter? Or is this a TADTS at some point and ignore it???
ive just got mine back from HHC after getting a new starter fitted (under warranty).
Mine started the same, took a few tries and would only click when hot, it then got worse and eventually wouldnt start at all! (I stalled in rush hour traffic in the middle lane of the A1 and couldnt restart- wasnt very happy.
its deffinitly your starter, id get it fixed asap
