As most threads seem to be having a bit of a moan this one is for how much of a bloody good time you had (and believe me I have things I could moan about, I basically pushed my 205 to Le Mans hehe)

Well even with that bizaar weather I had an absolute blast this weekend. Got to see loads of the race from loads of different parts of the circuit that I've never managed to get to before, was very suprised at how much I liked Expo, and the crazy dutch there were brilliant, the beers were lovely and chilled the whole weekend, and my car made it home bounce.

Roll on Le Mans 2008.....

My first time this year (stayed at Houx Annexe) and certainly won't be my last. it was my first time camping in more than 20 years too and even the poor weather did not put me off. We had a nice crowd, lots of drinks, plus champagne at the ACO, watched the race and had a thoroughly great time meeting lots of nice people along the way.....

Roll on 2008/9/10/11/12 etc etc etc as there was nowhere near enough time to do all that i wanted to.
I missed the open pit, did not go to the village, expo, didn't get to see enough of the track, spent the whole of the evening of the drivers parade in the restaurant and bar, etc etc etc.

First time at Le Mans and I enjoyed most of it (except getting soaked when trying to erect the tent... a few choice phrases were uttered). Definitely do it again thumbup

Another really enjoyable year, with some fantastic driving and racing as usual. Weather was interesting (smile), but still beautiful around Sat later afternoon into the evening. Drive down, back and for the days preceding in french countryside with good friends also part of the overall experience for me - and again, time and time again, it is the people you are with who make for the most memorable experiences.

The minor disappointments were easily overlooked, although I have a regrettable feeling that the ever-expanding corporate hospitality area will simply grow greater and greater in size and in coverage of the areas where visibility is good over the track. It is becoming more and more difficult to find spots from which to take good photos, and a lot of the corporate VIP tents were largely empty for most of the time. Here's hoping to a happy balance ongoing.

Lots of talk on here about the rise and rise of the "yob" element. I was fortunate not to see a lot of the less-palatable side of this, although it was more obvious than in prior years, especially in the packed beer tents. However, on a positive thread, it was fantastic to see many amazing convoys/groups/teams who had spent so much time preparing for the weekend and who were clearly enjoying everything about the experience - race, friends, camping, beers, and a plethora of great cars.

we got home at 8pm after a long drive home, as always exhausted but really excited about planning next years trip. It might have been wet but standing level with the finish line and watching the cars complete the 24 hours still makes the hackles stand up on the back of my neck. LM is awesome!
