Did my wedding duties on Saturday and took the groom to Church in the Cerbie biggrin

Anyway, afterwards, on the way to reception I took my friend (the bride's father) when I heard something strike the front of the car on the A3. Thought nothing of it and interestingly enough, yesterday when I washed the car noticed nothing untoward. It may have been that I was preoccupied trying to get my oil filler cap from the bowels of the engine rolleyes

Today I spotted it...a crack on the o/s front headlight and a chunk of fibreglass missing where a sodding stone struck frown

Anyone know if the glass covers can be replaced on the later projection headlights, or am I looking at a complete unit?

You have to replace the unit (I'm assuming it's one of the small Hella ones). It's a bitch to get at as you have to work through the access panel and most likely has some bonding holding it in place.
You may also have to cut one of the adjuster legs off the replacement as it is too long and fouls on the inside of the wing.

It's just awkward. I thought I could just unscrew at the back, pop it out and replace. In the end you have to unscrew, remove all the sikaflex holding it together, remove from the rear, cut the new one (the leg) to match the old, refit, adjust the beam, and put some sealant to hold it together.

Thanks...other burning question... is the beam from the new unit brighter? I mean what with it being clean and new inside compared to the old one.

fit HID's if you can, as they are a HUGE improvement over standard lights

I was just going to say...biggrin

Done the 6000k ones before, so will probably go for the 4500 (ish) k as they are the factory HID colour temperature.
