I have no spark to r/h bank of cylinders, coils not duff ,12volts in L/T leads ,but no spark?
Could this be ECU problem ? Are there any other tests to try?

How do you know the coil isn't duff?

The ECU grounds the coil packs to signal a spark, the +12v is supposed to be there all the time.

I have replaced the offending coil, and tested it using the low tension wires from the good bank.

Just a thought! you could eliminate a coil pack by changing them round! if the otherside fires then happy days again!
Hope you get it sorted! thumbup

But if you run the RH coil with the cable from the LH bank, it won't work anyway. As Cerbielee says you could swap over HT and LT cables, that might prove or disprove the coil pack - which is the most likely cause.

Havn't you replaced your loom completely lately? HAs it worked since you did this?

I had a prob similar to this with my old Cerb - it was in fact the injectors not firing on one side.

I used to have details of which pins run which coil pack and injectors - but I think the notebook is long gone. I'll look around though.

Inside the loom there are some splices which are not insulated. They're crimp splices - its possible that one is corroded and not continuous, that's what was eventually wrong with mine.

I've just sent you the wiring diagram as requested.

Hope it turns out to be something simple!

Yes,i replaced the loom using a doner from a slightly later car,and the ECU from another source again from a later car [1999] the type no.s match up but some colour codes are different on the loom.
I have no battery light on switcing on ignition/and permanent MIL light untill i disconnect the r/h coil pack l/t wire, then MIL will go out?
Coils are not faulty. i think a wire or two is in the wrong place somewhere on the loom connector or the ECU is shot.
