Either the roads in France are terrible, or the guys that I have been following have been going significantly faster than normal ... can't think which ...

but either way, I now have not one, but TWO cracked Cibie driving lights frown

As the car is for sale I need to get them replaced a bit sharpish. Anyone know the best source please, either good second hand or new?

Thanks in advance.

(car ran like a dream to Le Mans and back by the way, at some quite serious velocity smile ).

There's a guy in PH Classifieds who's been trying to sell a new pair for ages.

Jay

PS Currently halfway down Page 5 of TVR Parts - 94 pounds for the pair.

If you mean the lower ones, then I know Pasco just got some so might be worth dropping him a line

Might be worth investing in some carbo-discs from the TVRCC shop - around £25 a pair. Alternatively FFG has some real natty covers on his (Andreas) Griff - again might be worth dropping him a line too thumbup

Thanks guys smile

I suspect the link the classifieds may be Lazyitus smile

That price sounds ok Jon. There is a chap who has a second hand pair which I am just checking that the reflectors and class are nice and clean and bright, and then I'll decide which route to take.

I an tempted to go 'new' though just for peace of mind.

Is it a simple job to replace them or, is it like most easy to do jobs, a right pig to actually get at them?

A little bit fiddly but if I can manage it, you can. Believe me!

I see you must work in or around TP ? If so, I can get them to you by hand to save postal costs.

Just let me know.

Between the football ground and Trafford Centre - I could probably throw the lamps to you from here. biglaugh

I could meet you later with said lamps if you wish. I will have a red hankerchief in my breast pocket and a paper under my left arm. We'll do the switch, just leave the cash (or cheque) under the bench. wink

While this method is indeed cheap, I feel there is a very real danger of cracking the lenses.

Don't worry, I'm going to the chippy at dinner - I can wrap the lamps in newspaper.

Sorry to put yet another fly in the ointment but won't the curry sauce stain them?

Still, I'm sure an additional tinge of yellowness won't look too out of place on Al's car biggrin

Al, I can drop them off at dinnertime if you want them. Just drop me an email with your mobile number if you wish and I can give you a call.

Or any time this week.

I'll leave it with you.
