Just been look at the PH members fleet section and I can't believe how many different permutations there are for Porsches (I'm sure other marques are similar. 5/6 ways of saying a GT3 mk1, 5/6 ways of saying a 996 turbo X50 etc. Are there any plans for pooling these together so that searching for a specific model actually brings up all the relevent PHers?

Has this been caused by giving people the ability to make up their own description before checking on the ones already listed?

It is a bit of a catch 22 this one. We could add all the makes and models into the list, but with the number of variations of even one model of car it would require some form of free text which would defeat the objective, or a very good feed of every derivation of car which would take time to implement.

Though saying that I will add it to the list to see if a compromise solution can be found. smile

Keep them suggestions coming biggrin

Would the best way would be to have 3 drop down boxes for marque and type, eg

Porsche
911
C2 / C4 / GT3 / Turbo

Then a free form box for people to add their own specifics if they wanted (C4s, GT3RS, GT2 etc). Then when searching you can at least have the first 3 filters if you just wanted to ogle GT3s in general.

If a brand has revisions then you could add that as a 4th fixed test too (Porsche series, BMW e series etc etc)

I think we need to have a few more drop down menus with more details. A good place to start would be the classifieds groupings.

Box 1
997, 996, 993, 964, Boxter, Cayman, Cayenne etc.

Box 2
GT2, Turbo, GT3, GT3RS, C4, C2

Box 3 Leave blank for people to add details eg for the 996 things like:
coupe, cabrio, 3.4, 3.6 mk1, mk2, manual, tiptronic, GT3 aerokit
