Yeah got down there about 1am.
Managed to evade the marshalls in the woods and were standing about 2 meters away from the armco barrier for about 25 minutes. Then the Gendarmerie came along and rumbled us and warned us if we returned we would be arrested. Amazzing.....nuts but bloody amaizing!!!!

Five of us made it down there for about 4.30am - got clocked by the Marshalls, but they were great and left us alone (we had the good sense to stay in the treeline and not use flash). Sunrise over the straight was awesome.
Wrecked a pair of jeans on the way (barbed wire) but worth it.

I did make it, and didn't get clocked by anyone, as I hid at various points, ninja style. Woo. Took me about three hours to hike over to the far end of the Mulsanne straight as I had to go so far cross country! No barbed wire injuries or otherwise, just sore feet. Didn't see anyone else doing what I was doing which was a mite disappointing, but did watch the cars about 10ft away from the armco first at night, then went further along for the sunrise, which whilst not a religious experience, was rather bloody good!
I was mostly watching by a golf course if anyone crossed upon it - there was a marshals campsite there with quite a few Brits on it.
I was so knackered on the way back though that I had to thumb a lift with some Frenchies. Ta chaps.

Went down there on saturday evening.
Cunningly used satnav to navigate around lanes not blocked by the Gendarmes, got to the field behind the Chinese restaurant, then climbed onto wall about 50 yards from the braking zone.
Simply amazing noise, you could feel the cars go past ( about 5 yards away from us ) and when we had 5 cars in a group sail by at 200 mph, i actually had ringing in my ears despite earplugs.
Gendarmes moved us on after an hour or so but in a lighthearted way.
God that Saleen sounded good. Thought the 'Vettes sounded awful this year- like a bucket of spanners

We camp right next to it each year and pop through now and again, there are some great spots in the woods. We also had a blat down it at 2:30am the night before the race having nipped through the barrier at one end. We came straight back up it and jumped off as the local force weren't looking too impressed.
It seems all the footage is from the side of the other side of the track than I was on. At least you got footage though! I've got some very black photos and video of nowt!
