Well, vowing to stick pretty much to the speed limit, we were on our way out of LM yesterday when the guy at the front of our convoy wasn't sure where he was going so waved me passed on the ring road. Unfortunately the spot we chose to change places was right by a gatso. I blipped past him at 110kph at what I think was a 70 section.

Anyone know what am I likely to get for that and how is the bad news going to arrive?

I've been flashed over there a couple of times and received nothing in the post. I wouldn't worry...

Its a speed camera used at accident black spots ( yeah right ) usually an 8 foot post by the side of the road with a box on the top ....but thats not important right now......

I wouldn't worry. I believe that the legislation allowing the French/British traffic authorities to exchange points, fines etc will not be in place until 2010. So we are safe from fixed cameras for two more years.

It's ok, I set one off last year (didn't see it) and never received anything through so I wouldn't worry.

The information I was given last year is to wait three months, if you haven't had anything by then you'll have got away with it.

Hi - I think we spoke at a services on the way home yesterday (I'm tallish and was wearing a red t-shirt)

You looked VERY tired, hope you made it home ok!

I wouldn't worry about the gatso. If something arrives then so be it, no need worrying before it does IMO.

Cheers, yep made it back. I wasn't feeling too bad, must have looked worse that I felt cause I got a good 7 hours sleep, unlike the others in our group who'd been on the beers to the small hours.

Guess I will have to put it to the back of my mind for the time being.

Nothing to worry about... I have had a few but never seen the paper work...

BUT - The EU is trying to link them all up, but not yet...

I went past a plain police van parked up in a layby that had a mobile speed camera in the back and got flashed so hopefully i'll get away with that one aswell then (not sure what speed i was doing or what the limit was)

One thing i did notice was that when they say there is a fixed camera.....there is a camera! rather than in the uk with the constant threat rolleyes

Did anyone get caught by the 3 john doms on the A28 on the Thursday north of Alencon? We were heading home and couldnt believe there was 3 plod, one with a radar gun and two others with binoculars seeking out the brits to pluck off.....furious

Probably! We were heading for Arromanche and I was the middle car of 3, when we were all flagged into a layby opposite a lane, where there were three gendarmerire(!!) bikes parked. €90 and details taken (x3) - end of, but I can't read his writing on the ticket for the precise location. Could have been a lot worse from other accounts, but my details are in their system for next time. Just waiting to hear about the camera I popped last year!!
