Sorry, but I'm getting this off my chest.
I would like to say hello to the t
t who decided to take a dislike to my car on Saturday evening as I made my way out of the track to the Super-U.
Pointing, laughing, name calling and general slagging off. Yes, I was driving a £500 car. Yes it is my 'real' car and not a pisstake. And hey, guess what, I AM a student, so **** you.
Guess what mate - it did 1200 miles without a hiccup. It was comfy. I actually enjoy driving it. We joined in the fun by getting stickered up. I was camping in the shittest campsite, I didnt know all the secret spots to watch, I do know 'what the **** I'm on about'and I am a bigger motorsport fan than you, you dickpiece. I hope your Porsche or TVR or whatever car you were driving, that is no doubt worth 3 times my annual income, got stuck in the mud and blew up on the way home.
Cos my cheapass car didn't
It did not spoil it, but maybe someone who reads this might just feel a bit of guilt about making someone feel very unwelcome for a few minutes.
Thank you to the other 99.9% of people who realise that money does not maketh the man, and showed a bit of respect and had a giggle at us for travelling all that way, 3 up, skint as fook, buying the cheapest tickets, and absolutely no offence to anyone Porsche or TVR drivers.
Next post/thread will be very positive, fear not. Off to hose the shite off the car and bung my stuff in the washer, back this aft.

Sounds like one of the numerous chav fiends who have taken to Le Mans in the last few years. I wouldn't take offence and take it as a positive thing - you went to Le Mans and got a reaction. Chin up, chest out and onwards to 2008.
I think I know who you're talking about thogh. He sleeps with his cousin, has a small cock and collects hair from the local barbers.

A true enthusiast would have given you the thumbs-up realising that, not having loads of money, you still made it to LM as a priority. Edited by Combover on Tuesday 19th June 10:02
I know how you feel mate, we had a few jokers making fun of our Rovers. Mine was £650 over 3 yrs ago and my mates was £50 (!!) about 2yrs ago.
Also in our team was an MR2 turbo (about £4k a few months ago) and an Almera GTi (dunno how much that was but he's had it about a year).
MR2 had driveshaft problem on the way home.
Almera developed a really bad misfire when getting hot in traffic jams (there were plenty of those!)
NEITHER Rovers had ANY problem at all, despite a good thrashing, traffic jams etc.
So there you have it... 'unreliable' Rovers vs 'reliable' Jap cars.... hmmmm
But anyway at least you enjoyed it and had FUN. That's really what it's all about, £50 or £500,000 car, who gives a toss? Yeah for sure the more exotic and expensive cars will get more interest but the true enthusiasts won't car what you drive, it's about YOU and your love for the whole thing which really counts.

If I ever thought I could help someone then I'd offer help. I think I did hear someone shouting abuse at the Almera, what was that all about???? Hope you got back okay!

On the ferry, waiting to desembark, some chaps in an M5 were asking lots of questions- "is that the turbo one?.. cool, they didnt make many of those... my brother had a turbo coupe, very quick..."
Nice when people with exoitic cars can still respect cheaper cars

Don't worry about getting the piss taken. They were probably the same ones that were taking the p1ss out of my 'Rari. What the fook type of car must you get not to have the p1ss taken.
We particularly admired the gang in the London Bus, the half a dozen or so Gulf coloured Reliant Robins, the Gulf Allegro, Del-Boy's Robin and a whole team in big stickered up Rovers who had considerably more space than us and got home a lot quicker. (130k is quite quick enough with all the police presence I feel)
Did anyone see the light blue V8 Opel Manta that was in Arnage on Sunday Night? Gorgeous car. He kept firing it up to let people listen to it then it blobbed due to an electrical fault. I hope he managed to get it going again?
Looking forward to next year

We saw you on the ferry yesterday at 4pm from Dunkerque (i think). Don't worry what other people think of your car, you had gone to the effort with stickers and were in the spirit of the weekend.
The transport that will stick in my mind is the London bus on the N138 with the guy stood on the rear deck watching the cars go past, pure quality!

Your right money does not make the man well done for going in the first place .Many people talk about Le mans and never go you have done it.
It took me years and years to get my dream car it was not easy I have pushed myself to the limit to get it. We all have dreams you have to try to make them come true only you can do it no-one else will do it for you.
Good luck
It was a dream come true to drive there and back in my twenty year old 911 turbo 87 black .
SEE YA

There where some proper idiots there. I was told to get out of my campsite in my Land Rover as it was not a proper sports car! When I pointed out it carried a fridge 3 tents, 1 gazebo and loads of lights etc etc and me and a friend at 100 mph the whole way there he moved on..........just proves that a few people have no idea and are just rude without even thinking! Chin up matey and forget about the cr+p and remember the good times!!!!
