So having got off the ferry at Boulogne , heading to LM, the rear indicator bulb had blown. So, as it made overtaking discourteous to those behind me, I just kept it nailed in the outside lane drivingsmilecloud9

So the real point of the post is how the censored do you get to the bulb in the rear pod type lights scratchchin

It just seems inaccesible from the inside of the boot

Any help appreciated

Perhaps I'm missing something, but on my 97R Chimaera, it's simply a matter of removing the velcro cover, and putting my hand in.

Are "pod lights" different?

Underneath the removable velcro'd cover, there just seems to be wires going into each light pod, with a rubber shroud that doesn't appear to come away from the light.

Didn't investicgate too much as didn't want to make a complete hash of the wires whilst in France

They unscrew. Just like a jam jar lid. But they can be glued in place with the glue from the carpet: it makes them a bit tight.

Remove the cable tie wraps from the loom connectors and disconnect them first. Or twist the wires up before screwing the unit back together, so they're untwisted when the lamp is put back together.

A further thought. A couple of weeks ago I noticed my fog light wasn't working. When I took it apart the bulb was like new, no bad looking connections, but the socket looked a little 'dry', not powdery as such but like there had been a little moisture in it at some time. A wipe round with a little WD40 on a cloth had it working again.

Thanks Cider, thumbup it took a bit of brute strength, but came undone with relative ease.
Even managed to un-twist the previously twisted wires

Cheers
