Like so many people on the PH forum we have been going to LM for quite a few years now but think it has started to loose it edge, and were wondering how the alternatives compare; Nurburgring 24 hrs and Spa 6 hrs or can any one suggest anyother motorsport event which can come close to comparing with LM.

Bah humbug.

Next year the plan (organisers permitting) is to do LM, 'ring, Spa and Britcar 24 hours.

Been to Le Mans and Le Mans Classic generally since 1996. The regular Le Mans is entirely different to Le Classic. The latter is for enthusiasts, the former for louts. If you want to get pissed and screw up the event for everyone, stick to Le Mans. Whatever, I'll still go to both but I'll stick to the places on the west of the circuit rather than the east and inside the curcuit wher the louts (a kind word for some of them) seem to congregate. Keep going to LM. If you actually watch the race instead of spending time on the campsite/roundabouts etc, there is little evidence of any loutishness at all.

x 2 Cooperlola.

But the Le Mans Classic is truly awesome. And about 1/6 the number of people too!

funny, I found it's getting extremely crowded so perhaps people should give it a miss...

Unless you spend the week on a campsite, these days it's getting harder to avoid it...

unfortunatly i too like soo many, felt after many years that this will be my last trip to Le mans.
classic 2008 will be a must,

come on...
we all like a good drinking session....
but this year i really felt Le Mans had lost the spirit of the meeting and is now travelling a more vulger path!!!

Maybe an alternative for some would be a Club 18-30 holiday or are these not in fashion any more. Instead these groups gate-crash fantastic events such as Le Mans that is steeped in history and followed by 100,000's genuine racing fans, in tent on ruining what was a fantastic week or long weekend of high octane pleasure smile
