Does anyone have any opions about what would be
the best camshaft for my car might be.

The basic spec is : 4.6L (Rover V8)
SEAC big value head (it's a SEAC)
already has solid lifters
with Roller Rockers (Adjustable)
It's has the later hotwire throttle body.

It's currently go a 200 hybrid from V8 developments
but I feel it's a bit tame... especially at the top
end.

I'd ideally like more power after 6K trailing off
at about 6.5K. It's not being used for racing just the road.

Any Idea's.

I would go for V8 Development cams or Kent as fitted by V8D
I ( as you must know by now) recommend the M404 this is a mechanical lifter cam now being a regular replacement for SEACs etc, with very good results, or if you prefer the silent hydraulic cams go for there 218.

I have a 4.0L rover and the cam i have is a kent 238 i use it for street and strip the power band is from 2750rpm to 6500rpm and when the power kicks in you dont half feel it. It is very road freindly and is economical below 2750 rpm and not too bad while in the range. I know someone that had same cam as me then bought the next one up 248 i think it is and he wished he kept his old one, if you got one of the above you wont go wrong !! P.S. that is for use with solid lifters.

Normally you'd get a much better response, but i think everyone is a bit "cammed out", as this has been covered in depth recently, search back through the engines & Wedge forums for extensive discussions.

Second both your posts on this topic Tim, having done a fair bit of reading up myself recently agree that 404 if you want to go/stay on solid lifter route or 218 if you want to stay with hydraulics.

Thanks for the replies - it's always a tricky
subject.

One man's purfect cam is boring for someone else.

Plus go too crazy and it becomes undrivable on the
road and unreliable or just short lived.

Starting to sound like the 404 might just be the
way to go..!

Thanks.
