Hi guys, (Oh and Girlssmile)
Right picked up the Lammy! from Verdi's todaybiggrin As you may know i had a new clutch fitted (transformed the gear change etc!).
But Like a school boy being dared to play "Knock down ginger!"(Or whatever you like to call it!!!) I surcome to Peer pressure and got them to fit a pair of Decat pipes, whilst it was there! This is were the troubles begin! OH MY GODeekeekeek It is so loud!! With massive pop's and Bangs on the overrun (Whilst doing a good impression of a Bunsion burner!!!)I nearly Sh*t myself! (Please note i have been in the Nightclub industry for over 20 years, so actually consider myself deaf!) Seems to have smoothed out the power delivery as well. There used to be a kick @ about 6k (which used to flash the TC light in second) now it just pulls like a train from 4,500 to the cutout! Calling Andy and Chris etc, if there about, are yours the same??!
So to sum up i love it!
Not sure the neighbors or the ppl who live on my route from the club to my house, (about 60 miles) willhehehehe

Did you deal with scuderia directly or through verdi?

I get small flames on lift off now(4th in particular) so child in me says de cat must be done!

I do get on quite well with the neighbours tho so tubi might not be appropriatebiggrin

Also must add the videos etc r not a lot of good at letting you hear the noise, as you don't get the full effect and you generally don't replay it as loud as it is!!

Yup. Decatted Gallardo is VERY loud.

I know I'm hopelessly biased, but I swear a Gallardo is louder than a Murci with the same exhaust system.

As hilarious as the decat is, I know I couldn't live with it for too long.

Can't see myself getting tired of the flames though, just keep an eye on the rear bumper and diffuser. They can start to suffer from the heat.

hi guys

i have a 04 Gallardo and fancy a new exhaust as i think the standard one is poor sound wise

i saw a Black G in Gloucester Rd Kensington last nov and the noise i heard was really like nothing else i ever heard before popping crackling etc etc like fireworks going off. on hearing this and assuming it was a Tubi i rushed off the Verdi to get one fitted to my 360 and it was very disopointing indeed very buzzy at low speed, and nothing like ( not even similar) to the G i had heard, and wanted to achieve.

was the Gallardo i heard maybe a decatted tubi'd like the original posters now is?

if so what the cost legalities and insurance complications etc etc

pls let me know

cheers Tim

Timmo,
My 360 had a Tubi as well, the sound is nothing like the Gallardo!! The 360 is a V8 with a Flat plane crank, therefore creates a very distinct sound.
The Gallardo you heard was almost certainly Decatted! As mine with just the Tubi on didn't Pop and Bang nowhere near as much as it does now!
as for legality's etc? Hmm, You cant get it MoTed without the cats on. (unless you have a good relationship with your local station!)
Costs are about £1800 for the Tubi, and £500 for the cat pipes. I think Verdi charges about £500 to fit. (You have to remove the rear bumper etc) Oh and the exhaust clamps break! 4 of them and they cost £75 eacheek
But verdi has arranged for a local engineering company to "refurbish" the original ones for £100 for the set.
Hope this helps??! Are you still enjoying it?

thanks very much for the info

its difficult living up here as there arnt many specialists around to help basically im on me own as far as help is concerned other than lambo manchester which is a good 3 hrs away,

do you think its worth putting a tubi on without the de cat pipes, as i dont fancy changing pipes etc every MOT

im enjoying the car immensely and after a 2000 360 it looks and feels like a new car in comparison

i dont get to use it that much but its certainly an occasion when i do get chance to get out and about, cant think of anything id rather have in its place at the min

Tubi on it's own is great! I think properly the best compromise to be honest!
Do you know any good garages up your way? as the job is not difficult, just a little bit time consuming (Removing the bumper etc)
Must say we did almost the same thing! I was in a 1999, 360 B4. The difference is amazing!

Hi Chris,
I tried putting up the windows last night on the way home and it does transform it! Sounds fairly normal then!!
Amused myself by looking in the rear view mirror at the flames etclaugh
Air filters are next!! Hope to do them in a week or so!
Must say i have had the car for a few months now, and it still blows my mindbowbowbow
It is an Absolutely awesome bit of kit, by far the best car i have ever owned.

Im up for that challenge smile Ive got a Big Bore Tubi (with CATs) on my Murcielago. Its is the loudest smooooothest but most piercing idle and the most disgustingly aggresive whine at 6000 rpm Ive ever heard. Makes me shudder just thinking about it. I love it, but it is devilishly offensive make no mistake.

I used to have a decatted Tubi's 355..... that was silent in comparison.
