Anyone get any hassle from the Pikeys this year? they turned up late afternoon Sunday at HA.
Old Renaults seemed the weapon of choice this year.

The pikeys turned up at BSJ on Monday, some old hag was picking up a bag of rotten looking apples that were under a mini marquee thing when the wind got up and made it fall down on top of her.

Needless to say it was hilarious. They were in a Renault Extra van thing.

Yeah, they were in BSJ by sunday PM. Saw a family of 5 taking down a tent which had been left by some guys who'd gone home, it took them nearly half an hour to take down a 3 man dome tent! Pulling the poles instead of pushing them out, so the poles just separated. Muppets!

2 years ago was the funniest though, watched a pikey in a renault 21 drive by in camping bleu, he was so busy eyeing up a pile of crap and broken gazebo, he drove straight into a metre wide boulder! It must have been a write off, there was literally pennies of damage!

To be fair, by Monday morning, it is quite hard to tell the Pikeys from the great hung-over, unwashed, racing fans. The female pikeys usually have a larger 5 o'clock shadow than any of the Brits. That's the major giveaway, I find.

Loads of them in Karting Nord on Sunday night ransacking the Danish area and making off with significant numbers of damp 2nd hand sleeping bags and ropey red tents. Didn't have any problems with them at all really smile

Good luck to them I say. Better the stuff is recycled than going in to landfill. They even took our low alcohol beer which we bought by mistake smile

I consider it our bit for the local community, they are quite polite and always ask. We have met the same pikey Friday morning at Expo for the last 3 years. His beers (well our and your left overs) are being cooled by a Team Armitage Shanks Racing Fridge now...

Plenty of pikey's in HA monday morning doing a fine clearing up job, unlike the thieving English Bastard in our Gazebo the night before who nicked an iPod while we refuelled our genny.

Dont get me started! The dirty Cvnts. My friends car broke down and was left in BSJ on Sunday night because we had to get our ferry. We return Tuesday to take the car home on a trailer and the car had been stripped of everything, bucket seats, bumpers, spoilers, ecu, sound system and wiring, wiper blades alloy wheels, the f***ing lot. I have a couple of pictures but wont be able to post them until next monday when i get back from a work course. Will take a baseball bat next year. It was Purple Escort Cosworth replica if anyone saw it.

Yeah I saw it getting pulled at the first tolls on the way down on Weds morning, then a couple hours later trying to impress the crowds at the Shell garage with a fwd wheelspin, which immediately gave away to anyone who was short sighted that it wasn't a real cossie biggrin

Unfortunately that is the way of things when "clear up" happens on Monday. I think almost anyone who's been to Le Mans previously would have warned you against leaving a car unattended like that in the campsite, as the result of what happened to you was almost inevitable in the circumstances.

You must remember that Le Mans sits in a pretty poverty stricken part of France, and there is a large peasant community in the area. "Being a gippo" in the campsite is a valuable source of income for a number of them.

In that sense one of the sadder things I saw at BSJ on Monday was the number of tents which were intentionally slashed by thier owners before they left them there. There was no reason for that other than spite IMHO, and the local pikeys don't deserve that frankly.

You'll like this. Karma does exist....

We were camped in Camping Expo, under a huge cattleshed (works really well - allt he cars, fire, and sleeping in one DRY area. Anyway, we could see the toilets and showers from the cattshed (they were about 5m away...DOH!).

There was 2 elderly ladies that spent 100% of the time cleaning the loos and showers. Literally every time someone used something, they cleaned, and kept a fresh supply of loo roll etc. Made it really nice shower/toilet facilities which many don't often get.

Anyway, there were tips boxes outside and at any one time they had around 10€ in.

On Saturday night around 2am, 3 x immigrants went walking around the camp site looking for stuff to steal. One of them nicked the tips box and walked through the gap in the middle of the toilet and shower blocks while tipping it all into his pocket and chucking the little box.

In the middle of the toilet and shower blocks was a drain that had been removed and 2 x guttering pipes flowing waste into the drain. He went STRAIGHT down it

Got up, the most embarassed person you'll ever see, covered in shit. Superb, the little scummy git.

We were tempted to go and kick the sh1t out of them, but decided it wasn't worth it; they'd have only come back with more people, or just vandalised all the vehicles. So we made the woman tea, warm croissants

Karma does exist

In Karting Nord a lot of the tents were slashed by the gyppos for some reason while they were scavenging from them.
