A friend of mine got to drive the new Camaro a few weeks ago as part of some research group. He seemed quite pleased about it.

Can't say as I like them that much though; if I was going to spend that kind of money I'd rather build one of these:

Hardly a valid comparison though. Stripped out racer vs four seater GT. I'll take the Camaro.

I prefer the look of the Challenger, but the Camaro will probably be available here in right hand drive with a proper warranty, and an inflated price tag of course.

With the VXR8 retailing at circa £35k, I reckon you're looking at £40k for a Camaro. Hopefully it'll always be cheaper than the Corvette....especially as the 'Vette is GM's halo car.

I can't wait to see it in the flesh. If it's at Goodwood tomorrow (in the Supercar/concept car padock) I'll be a very happy bunny.

I'll take mine in black smile

It's a fine looking car alright. Be interesting to see how they price it and whether they make it available in RHD from the get go.

Paul - I'll be at Goodwood tomorrow, so keep an ear out for the Mustang smile

I'll take mine LHD, as an import and with £180 pa road tax not £300. Like I've said before, how can they sell it here - as a brand in itself because it certainly ain't no upmarket Daewoo. It will also kill sales of the VXR8 dead in RHD form as the rumours are it's being developed by Holden.

I wonder what would happen to the value of LHD imports if Daewoo, sorry I mean Chevrolet, sell them officially with RHD and warranties. As it is, and I can't remember where I read it, but Bob Lutz said there were about 4000 RHD for Europe. They'd come in limited numbers and get SVA'd...as this would get around the European pedestrian laws that the car can't pass. Summink like that anyway.

RHD/LHD, official or unofficial, it'll still be one of the meanest looking mutha's on the road smile

Agreed styling wise... just not sure about the Hemi as opposed to a LS engine.

Fantastic styling, let me make that quite clear, but you're buying a 4000lb old E class Merc in a designer tracksuit. The Camaro will murder it.
