Nice - but not much use without an engine!

In fact why do people half strip cars of the bloody engine.
They know they will get more if the two sold separately - doubtfull.

Jon, if you'd like to ask a quesion then why not do it directly?
Why is the car for sale without an engine? A number of reasons:
1) The engine currently in the car belongs to Darren Dowling. The engine I bought for the car in 2005 now has three holes in the block. In hindsight the engine was due a refresh and new rod bolts, but then hindsight is always perfect. The result is I don't actually have an engine for the car at the moment
2) Looking at the variety of engines in Tuscans in the Challenge and road car conversions, and taking acount of other threads such as 'Are there enough AJPs', it is quite clear that people have different views as to what engine they prefer. By selling the car as a rolling chassis I give the choice of engine to the buyer. If they want to race in the Challenge they can therefore chose their class. I'm not going to spend money on a replacement AJP race engine (and put the price up accordingly) if someone would rather put a Rover, Chevy or road AJP in it
3) Tuscan Challenge cars were traditionally always sold minus engines because the factory owned them. I bought both this car and the one I sold to Graham without engines
4) I would rather not have the grief that would come with selling it with an engine if it went bang first time out. As the ad says, if someone wants a race AJP I'll help them find one, they can make their own decision and agree their own price, and I'll even fit it for them.
Whichever way you look at it, its hardly stripping the car of its engine...

Cool - I was just scanning the for sale pages for a mate and spotted it.
Ha it must be one of the best ones as you say.
Hope it gets a good home. Hope it stays AJPV8, and not the RV8 route that is SUCH A WASTE.
Loverly Car. The Sag is on a Tuscan chassis as well with the Sag body on it? Is it having a hideous large rear wing?

Oi
mind you the plans for my spare chassis are neither Rv8 or AJP, something you may approve of
Edited to say :- The chim/Griff wheelbase is shorter than a Tuscan Challenge car..

Cool - Similar to more bhp is good less is a waste (IMO). Fair enough if it was a top spec 4.5 original Tuscan RV8 (but doubt there are many or those about now and the power they many was always way over egged). AJPV8 (RACE) not std with some mods, or maybe the other route! (but heavier - bit more weight in a road car is fine, but I am paranoid about it in racers!). Either way it needs at least 400bhp at the very least.
On different tack - how are the grid sizes averaging out so far this year?
