You could make me the happiest man in the world, if you tell me it's possible to replace without removing the entire dash. Also, that i can source a new one for £10 ... biggrin

But i think a frown is more likely

Seasider, complete dash out is a 45 min job.
Its surprising how easy the whole thing comes out.

But IME thats when the hard work starts.
The heater box is awkward to say the least.

Good luck.

After two hours off trying to cut out the two ton's of silicone,I reckon you'll just rip the f###ker out.

You may get away with taking off the glove box,but it will be back braking work,as you need as much room as possible to cut away the silicone,I removed the fuse box too and slung it over the dash.
Mail me if you need any photo's or info,as I did this job quite just the other day

My next job.... got a few wet drips on hand when installing new battery fortnight ago.... doesn't seem to work either despite all visible motors moving when bottin pressed, amps drop and noises when fans on ... but still all seems the same in cabin
