Gong to Silverstone this weekend?

Are you going to Silverstone this weekend in your TVR?
I’ve managed to get Silverstone Circuit Management to formally agree to provide an on course parking facility for TVR’s.
In the past an adhoc arrangement has existed so that we park at the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand. The problem with this was that most of the Car Park Attendants were not informed of the arrangement and directed TVR’s to the Public Car Parks.
Last year a few of us managed to ‘talk’ our way in. Once parked, I was surprised by the number of other TVR owners, who walked past and said they didn’t realise they could park ‘on course’ and had to park in the fields.
Silverstone Circuit Management will provide a space to park at the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand. This has been arranged with them via (and thanks to) Club Octane (Octagon Motorsports). They will provide a wire fence around the area!!!
Silverstone say that their problem in the past is with the ‘Policing’ of this arrangement and would ideally like to issue special passes, but don’t know how to implement such a scheme (It all got complicated from thereon). They stipulate that the arrangement is exclusive for TVR cars only (preferably TVRCC members) and specifically want those attending to ensure that this is adhered to. In other words they want us to ‘Police’ the arrangement!!!
Ideally you should get there early and head for Gate No 1 (don’t get waved-in to other areas by well meaning Traffic Policemen). When you get to Gate No 1 let the Car Park Attendant know that you are going to park with the other TVRs at the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand. If you don’t have a TVR (and paid for an entrance ticket) you won’t get in!!! Go through the gate, turn left, past Woodcote and then on to the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand.
I’ll be there on Sunday…see you there…good luck!!!

Hi Alf,
I'm going up on Saturday as a guest of TVR no less, hospitality and all, what ever that includes. If anyone knows please let me know !!
We are then staying over a couple of nights close by, and will be there on the Sunday and Monday too. I've spoken to “Yellow Peril” and I'm sure we will all try to meet up sometime.

Mrs //P//,
Think you need to tell it how it was....YOU dragged PW (poor guy) out of his 'hospitality suite' to get him to stand next to Debs!! I was there remember
Alan.
Any news on where showing my car on Sunday? If you haven't heard anything I wouldn't worry...just so I know where I'm parking

noodles 4.2 said: I am going to turn up on Sunday and I am really looking forward to it.. I don't have a ticket. Can I buy a ticket at gate 1 on the way to the TVR parking zone?
Any advice on sorting it out with the least amount of palava would be appreciated.
Tony
Hi Tony![]()
Tickets are readily available at the Gates. However, I advise you take cash to pay, just in case they dont take credit cards.
