I have to travel from Aberdeen to London in July to appear as a witness at a magistrates court.

This is because my car was broken into there and my sat nav nicked. (apprehended scrotes had my sat nav but are pleading not guilty.)

Anyway the CPS forms I got do not have the "separate sheet you will have received with your claim form". So, anyone tell me the mileage allowance? I do not want to fly.

Thanks

The paperwork requiring your attendance should have details of an office (CPS/Mags Clerks Office).

Don't know the current rates but if you bell them and pose the question to them you will be updated.

IIRC, the usual rate is 25 pence per mile. You may be entitled to a higher rate (40 pence per mile, again IIRC) if, for example, public transport was not available or you could demonstrate a considerable saving of time and money by not using public transport.
