With a flourish of Blackpool 'Kiss me quick Hat' I remove my glove and throw it into the Pork arena

The TVRCC c3c Region would like to challenge the Porkers to Go Karts at (preferably not dawn!) Silverstone Go Kart Circuit for a Grand Prix to the death!!!!!!!!!

Our web site is at www.tvrcc-c3c.co.uk and we are looking for Porsche owners who live in and around either the Cotswolds, Worcs, Hereford or I guess the Silverstone area for a duel of rubber!

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time! But we want the Karts that don't start and bits fall of them!

Any takers ?

I am definitely up for it! Is the track indoors or outdoors? Preference outdoors as indoor tracks are too slow!

Be interesting to see how you boys get on in karts, as on track in your TVRs you are just mobile chicanes for the Porsches

Don't really mind - yes dates are getting very chox, weekday may be better and I think a reduced rate. I have spoken to Silverstone and they can do a 40 driver GP for about £27 per driver (big discount due to numbers and potential repeat booking when we loose!!) - just waiting for details

They have plenty of slots in September - are we subject to an evenings only thing or can people turn up during the day ?

They mentioned that they can provide concourse type parking for pics of cars etc and Silverware for the Winner engraved with 1st Prize TVR Car Club c3c !!

They have an outdoor track as well that has a longer straight - i have seen the indoor one and it was good, with a good waiting area and all that jazz - don't mind really, might be more fun if it was wet!!

We'll be fine in Karts! maybe you guys should worry because they don't have auto-traction-no-need-for-driver-all-terrain-anti-slip-4-wheel-drive buttons
...and you wouldn't have the ability to switch the auto face powder switch in the glove box to camp mode!!!!

Another great idea from Simon 'that'll be the brake pedal then' P...

Yes, if you didn't already know it, I'm keen. Also I can make weekdays and evenings if required. Can I have a V8 in mine please?

Mmmm – based on the number of times I have been on a track day when the circuit has been closed due a TVR in the gravel…. I think it’s you guys who really need the all the electronic aids you can get!

Although can you imagine trusting anything like that developed by TVR – Jesus they can’t even get the bloody windows to work properly, what chance do they have of developing a traction control system that you could rely on!!

My car, a 964 rs clubsport – certainly has no driver aids, a measly 295bhp – yet it still drives around the outside of most TVRs

I do hope we can get enough people going – I would sooooo look forward to it!

How does the 26th or 27th of June sound to you guys ?

I'm just fishing for dates now because with a large event like this Silverstone only have certain slots

Or it could be later in the year when (our) diary is less crazy!!

Yup, we need more of you Porsche type drivers now to make this work - come on guys, a day at Silverstone (ok in a go-kart!) and a chance to prove that Porsche drivers are better drivers than Tiv drivers even without the electronics !!! What are you waiting for ??

(by the way I reckon we go for September ?)
