I've only had my CV8 for a couple of weeks and noticed every Chav within 100 miles wants to "have a go" whenever I appear in their rear view mirror. Last night on the way home it was some bloke in a P reg Nissan 200Sx, I don't know what he'd done to it but it went rather well for an 11 year old import; rather too well - I now feel the need for a supercharger to redress the balance.

I still get annihilated by local, stupid horsepower, jap imported FI stuff eg. skylines. Hence the need to save for the supercharger!

I feel your pain, I kept up with said 200sx without problem but couldn't pull out much of a gap on full throttle. Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't such an ancient pile of old crap!

Yeah, a well driven Clio sport type thing gave me a hard time the other day. No doubt our cars come from the factory with alot of soul, but they don't really deliver on the performance unless well modded.
EVO this month said 75% of RO's have been modded one way or another, so the performance deficit is being sorted. Nice to here Jez's FI VXR went toe to toe with a Vanquish, I had a ride in one a few months back and it was very impressive.
I had a traffic light blast against a DB 9, and the only time he pulled out a lead on me was on the gearchange. Was well impressed with the 'ro (Mine sounded better than his, courtesy of Wortec!). However, will accept that his looked better than mine. When I got back home, I checked the Aston's acceleration times, and actually they are indeed about the same as the 'ro.
When I first tested a VXR, a Clio 182 had a go. It accelerated just as well as the Vauxhall, but it has just about the same power/weight ratio. Having said that, they are a well impressive giant slayer!

All that firm does is Nissans and there was a lot of 200's all lined up for work. IRC £12k got you a 600hp SX, which is one hell of a tool.

lol, 200sx owners are now being branded as chavs? How misguided.Pleanty of genuine owners out there of all ages and walks of life, often with some very nicely fettled cars that will leave your average VXR owners' pride in tatters.
Easily accessible cars need not be branded chav wagons, and as a long time former owner and member of their owners club I can testify that despite there being a recent influx of chavs, the number of genuine car enthusiasts with a passion for motoring and tinkering with their cars far outweigh them.
There's some fecking fierce ones too, pleanty running huge power, and in a car that tips the scales at 12-1300kg's you'd be foolish to dismiss them, supercharger or not. Oh, and 200sx's generally aren't imports by the way.
Apologies if he was infact a chav, I just don't like the thought of all fans of japanese cars getting tarred with the same brush, and misconceptions about the type of person that owns a car like that get tiring after a while

It's price that drives the um, 'Chav' aspect. I've owned Calibra Turbos since they were top money - and now you can pick them up for a few quid and now you get all sorts buying them (and asking the stupid questions). With that glorious Vauxhall badge adorning our Holdens, the same will happen - and by the looks of it - pretty quickly.
So, stay tuned for 24 inch dubs, tacky body kits and the biggest aluminium spoilers you've ever seen! Rar!

You didn't see the bloke, we was about 12 and wearing a vest & cap and I suspect it was an import going by the size of the huge rear numberplate. My point is the Monaro is not exactly a Q-car, it attracts a lot of attention and needs to go as well as it looks.
