850CSi, anyone got one, any good?
Discussion
I have one... and an 850Ci. The CSi's are astonishingly good!

They come up for sale occasionally and are usually £15-£20k for a reasonable one.
Look for all the normal e31 points. Suspension & brake wear & look for a good service history.
Nothing is particularly expensive to sort out if you steer clear of dealers and pretty well everything is still available. Look for wear in the steering box - that is a rebuild job as it is NLA and unique to the CSi. Oh, and check for AHK warnings on the dash. If there is a fault in the AHK (rear steering), that can prove expensive! Fortunately, they are very well engineered and last a long time.
They don't normally rust and the trim is very well made so they can still look like new.
Engines start to need a little work at 80-120k. Things like water pump, belt adjusters, crank sensors, fuel pumps, leaky inlet manifold gaskets, dirty electronic throttle bodys and loose cam oil feed pipes. Nothing that is prohibitively expensive but these are things that can spoil the enjoyment of the car and sorting them can give peace of mind for relatively modest outlay.
Nothing feels like the sensation of cruising across Europe in 6th gear on a massive wave of torque at 120mph with the engine burbling at a mere 3000rpm.

This has to be a serious bargain unless it is a bag of nails....
