Apparently my cousin is driving around in her newly imported HSV. I'm assuming for now that it is the GTS but am going to go around this evening to have a look at it. Black I'm told and costing $90k Aus. So it will be interesting to see how different it is to the VXR8.
Little sidebar article in the Autocar mag this week about how every single new VXR8 has had to have a failed suspension bush replaced because of the way they were secured during shipping from Oz. Definitely not good press for their flagship car.
Also this month an article in the official BMW magazine comparing a 530i to an HSV GTS and a Ford BF XR8, will make a good read I'm sure seeing how they feel the two Aussie cars compare to what is essentially a middle of the road European car.

I saw that too, surprised it hasn't been mentioned before actually. What's that all about?

The issue related to one car only (DE51RED) which was shipped differently and months before the others. All others have been checked to find no fault.

That's fair enough, I was only mentioning what I read in the magazine. I thought it odd too that such a thing hadn't surfaced before either especially on the only tv airing of it I've seen so far ( Fifth gear). So I guess someone somewhere leaked info on the original car being damaged and it snowballed into the story in Autocar.

After Autocar tested it and made the comment, Vauxhall checked the car over and found the fault. Only showed up under real extreme conditions.

That does indeed sound fair enough, and more realistic as well. I remmeber the footage of the red car being taken oout of its box etc. However, the Autocar piece made it sound like all cars in the UK were affected. If that's not the case, doesn't that annoy you greatly?
