Went over to Silverstone yesterday for the F1 Testing. Amazed at how many people were their this year, had to queue up the A43 to get in, must be Hamilton-mainia, funny as he wasn't even due to be their at all this week.
The difference between last years cars and this years is quite considerable, they've got even more appendeges and the McLaren is looking uglier and uglier every time I see it. No planned access to the pits this year so was going to be quite content watching from outside. But come lunchtime managed to blag my way into the pits (thanks to Audrey whoever she is?), and spent an enjoyable afternoon with Renault. Unlike Ferrari and McLaren, Renault appear to be much more open about what they're doing, and constantly had a stream of people wandering round, which is how it should be really. Anyway some pics.

Went to Silverstone for the testing on Tuesday, seems it was a good day to go, drove straight into the circuit, no problems at all. The Hamilton apperarence rumours won't have been helped by the circuit commentator stating that he would definately be there on Wednesday!
Anyway, here are a few of my shots, not perfect, not really as sharp as I would like.

Rhubarb, how do you get such crisp pics ? They're as sharp as a knife.I see you are using a D70, what lens did you use and have they had any PP ?
All of the trackside shots were taken with a Sigma 120-300mm plus a 1.4 TC and a monopod, the pit side ones were taken with the kit lens 18-70mm. In terms of post processing very little, I'm slowly learning and am managing not to have to crop the images. I do have sensor dust though, so I do have to go and remove the splodges, especially on panning shots, other than that they're all shrunken to 750px. A few of them have been sharpened using PSP X sharpen. Here's a few links to ones straight out of the camera no pp at all (2Mb images),

to say I'm chuffed is an understatement, I put it all down to the lens, wasn't sure about it to start with but am slowly learning to love it.
