Was on my DAS today and I dropped the school bike while practicing figure of 8's, U turns etc. Landed on my left side and hurt my (already damaged) knee so badly I couldn't bend it to get my foot back on the peg. Went to docs and turns out I have injured my cruciate ligament and it could take between 2 weeks and 3 months to heal. Doc was a biker (he has tickets for the GP tomorrow) though and was really sympathetic and gave me a sick not to claim my test fee back for free. Dunno why I am telling you all this, making me feel better I guess.

What a nice doctor...
I had an off while on my lessons too...I stalled pulling away from the lights with a bus behind me...next thing I knew, the bike got skittled from underneath me...& we went down in a heap...After trying to pick the bike up it wouldn`t come up which I thought was strange. Looking back, it was because it was trapped under the front bumper of a bus...The driver must have been looking out the side window when pulling away behind me & hadn`t noticed I had not pulled away...
Quite unsettling I must say....
Get right back in there ...it will be worthwhile....

Ah, Sh!t luck mate. Still, it gives you a bit more time to study the highway code and maybe a bit of roadcraft!!Bugger

Give it a week or two and hopefully it'll be fine....Book the test the day you notice a nice improvement though!
Cheers.

Give it a week or two and hopefully it'll be fineDon't want to be the harbinger of doom but I'd forget bikes this summer & concentrate on getting that knee fully better, the last thing you'd want is for it to give way whilst you're supporting your new bike with it.
I did my knee years ago, still gives me gyp. GF snapped hers trying (failing) to ski 2 years ago & took 6 months to get back to somewhere approaching normality.
I had a replacement cruciate in September 2006 - and was back on bike before Christmas 2006. This is after tearing many times in the past - if you don't need an operation and it is only a slight tear - you will be good enough to ride in a couple of weeks when the swelling goes down.
Still in recovery now - but should be back playing football in 3 months, and going ski-ing for new year.

Currently consoling myself with looking at this as incentive for passing, it is actually waiting for me now, oh well...sigh...
