'A' frame adjusters ??

Before I go breaking something or setting fire to the 450 with the gas bottles, how do I undo the adjusters ? does the nut inside the tube lock the big 1 1/2 nut on the outside ?.... or what ??

The big nut is basically just a lock nut. The smaller nut inside the tube holds the bushed part of the A frame in place. Once this is undone you can remove the bused part which leaves the lock nut and adjuster still on the A frame. The adjuster is a threaded sleave with flats on the top to hold with a spanner. This is used to adjust the camber once you have released the lock nut, but best of luck beacause that insert will be welded in place with corrosion by now. I did attempt to free mine but gave up in the end!

As above loosen both the large and smaller lock nuts.
If not previously greased may be worth using lots of release agent for a couple of days prior.
Turning the barrel with the flats adjusts the toe - however it dose effect the camber - so first get the toe correct and then adjust the camber (shims between drive shaft flang)
If changing the toe more than a 'midges' then the tie bar length may need adjusting.

i found oxy and retapping the threads was the only solution i'm afraid.....

Did the whole job, freed of both sides in about 2 hours from start to finish. somebody in the past loved Copperslip
So now its ready for them lasers, as soon as we get a dry day

Fair play, Everything I have replaced has had a good dose of Copperslip now, you were very lucky someone had done the adjusters though!

Thanks for the help Andy at least I knew what I was doing when I got under there
