Anyone know where to get hold of the shiny collar bit that sits on the wheel valve stem?

I've just replaced my original TVR caps (nicked by the paperboy 2 years ago!) with some shiny Ebay ones and I'd like to replace my shiny stem bits as well.

Appearances matter - don't want Tammy to look scruffy when I'm burning off eejets in Z4s and MX5s (plus the usual porkers).

On my car they are part of the valve - i.e. the rubber and metal are bonded together. My dealer sold me some.

How much did they charge you?

No more than a couple of quid each, can't remember. I bought 4, only needed to use 2 so far for 2 new rears (on original fronts still after 15k!).

Thanks - ordered set of 5 with caps (incase the new ones get nicked) from tyresafedirect for £2.50 including p+p.

Result!

The chrome sleave just pulls off the old valve and pushes on the new. Alternatively, i am told that the original is the same as the ones supplied by TSW wheels. Try Demon Tweeks.

KwikFit sell them - £1 each IIRC.

Bit academic now as I got caught in the floods near Harrogate in the Tam and spent last night in a rather bizarre 'falling down' type of situation until the low loader eventually found me and managed to get me home after several attempts at finding the tow eye.

Some very scary people turned up through the evening in the pissing rain with me up to my knees in floodwater. Mucho interest in a stranded TVR essentially in the middle of a river. Very nice man in a LandRover Defender managed to winch me out of the water onto dryer road.

Nice lad took lots of piccies so they may turn up somewhere. I told him about PH.

Oh dear! weeping

She's now at the menders to see if my engine is toast or it's just a wet air filter. I'm not feeling optimistic.

Just got a message from the garage - only water in the air filter so getting her back tomorrow bounce.

She's staying inside until we get some proper Sun.

Thanks for all the concern.
